Your data never leaves this phone
This policy describes how the Paisa Android application
(com.paisa.myapp) handles your information. It is written to be
literally true of the app as built. Two of the points below are limitations
rather than protections, and they are stated here deliberately.
What we collect
Nothing. Paisa does not collect, transmit, sell or share any personal data. No information is sent off your device, to us or to anyone else, at any time.
There is no analytics SDK, no crash reporting service, no advertising identifier and no tracking of any kind in the app.
How Paisa handles your information
No account, ever
There is no sign up, no email, no password and no profile. Paisa does not know who you are, so there is no record of you to lose, sell or hand over.
No server, nowhere to send it
The app is fully offline. Every balance, transaction, category and note lives only in the app on your phone. There is no cloud, no backup and no database anywhere else. Uninstalling the app deletes all of it.
One phone only
Because there is no account, nothing syncs. Each phone keeps its own separate ledger and a second device starts empty. This is a direct consequence of storing nothing about you.
Only the apps you link
Paisa reads notifications only from apps on your phone that you have linked to an account yourself. Anything from any other app is discarded before it is opened, and all parsing happens on the device.
Investment apps are never read
Paisa reads only the banking and wallet apps you link. Investment, trading and brokerage apps are never read, and the app has no access to any holdings or portfolio.
One currency for now
Everything is tracked in PKR. Accounts or transactions in another currency will not convert correctly yet. Multi-currency support may come later.
Notification access
Paisa uses Android's notification listener permission
(BIND_NOTIFICATION_LISTENER_SERVICE) to turn your bank and wallet
alerts into transactions automatically. This is the app's core feature and
the app cannot capture transactions without it.
Android grants notification access for every app at once; it cannot be limited to particular apps at the system level. Paisa therefore filters on your behalf: it reads notifications only from the apps you explicitly link to an account inside Paisa, and discards every other notification without opening it.
Notification content is parsed on your device and stored on your device. It is never uploaded, logged or transmitted. Granting this permission is optional — Paisa works as a manual tracker without it, and cash accounts never require it.
Permissions
- Notification access — optional. Reads alerts from the apps you link, so transactions log themselves.
- Internet — declared by the app framework. Paisa contacts no servers of its own.
- Vibrate — haptic feedback on interactions.
Paisa requests no access to your contacts, camera, microphone, location, photos, SMS or call logs.
Data sharing and third parties
Paisa shares no data with third parties, because it holds no data outside your device. The app contains no third-party analytics, advertising or tracking libraries.
Paisa is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to any bank or payment provider.
Deleting your data
Your data exists only in the app's own storage on your phone. You can remove all of it at any time by clearing the app's storage in Android Settings, or by uninstalling Paisa. Because nothing is held anywhere else, no deletion request to us is necessary or possible.
Children
Paisa is not directed at children under 13 and collects no data from anyone, including children.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be published at this same address with a new effective date. Material changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
